Lakshmi Planum is a series of photographs of prism light on mylar, printed at an extra large size of 48"X36". The photographs explore scale, creating miniature worlds that translate as alien landscapes in long shot focus. The Lakshmi Planum of the planet Venus possesses the most spectacular topography on the planet. It is a high plateau that, in configuration, resembles the Plateau of Tibet on Earth. Lakshmi is bounded by mountains on most of its sides, the largest range being the enormous Maxwell Montes on the east. This series is very much indebted to the photographers of light: Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Barbara Kasten, and Roger Camp.
