fear, yes, and freewheeling
C. Tara & David Gladden were asked by choreographer, Jennifer Schmermund to provide music for a performance at the University of Delaware on March 13 & 14 2015. The music that was chosen for the project was "Ylla Dreams" from the Transmissions album. The dance that was created from the music was entitled fear, yes, and freewheeling.
Jennifer Schmermund is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and writer living in coastal Delaware. She teaches in the Dance Department at the University of Delaware. She earned her MFA in dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received the Wanda M. Nettl Prize for choreography. As a dance teacher, she has been on faculty at Marymount School of New York, served as an adjunct at Bucknell University and was a guest artist at Salisbury University. In New York, she trained as a yoga teacher through Om Yoga and with J. Brown at Abhyasa Yoga Center and taught at Cora School for Dance, Poly Prep Country Day School, GREEN SPACE and Friends Seminary. In 2004, she co-founded the dance company FRESH BLOOD with KC Chun-Manning, and has presented work in New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Colorado. Her choreography extends to the realms of film and theater; she recently created a piece for the feature film, The History of Future Folk, and is editing her film short, “Wild ____ Yonder,” set in Prospect Park. As a performer, she has danced for choreographers including Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance, Kimberly Young and Valerie Green and has worked as a puppeteer in the work of Ed Valentine.
